About Mert Şentürk

Prof. Mert Şentürk is a professor of Anesthesiology and Reanimation with extensive experience in clinical practice, academia, and research. He was a member of the faculty at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine from 2009 to 2022 and joined Acibadem Health Group in 2022. His main areas of expertise are thoracic and cardiothoracic anesthesia, perioperative respiratory care, and intensive care medicine.

He has also taken on leadership and editorial responsibilities, including serving as editor of the Journal of the Turkish Anesthesia and Intensive Care Society from 2016 to 2018 and as president of the Chest Cardiovascular Anesthesia Intensive Care Association (GKDAYBD) from 2014 to 2016. In professional societies, he has been a corresponding member of the German Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (DGAI), held roles within EACTAIC from 2016 to 2019, served on the ESAIC respiratory subcommittee from 2011 to 2015, contributed to the Milano SMART meeting scientific committee from 2017 onward, and participated in TARD’s Thoracic Surgery Anesthesia Working Group. He was also Principal Investigator for the international PROTHOR study.
