About Hamdi Karakayalı
Prof. Hamdi Karakayalı is a transplant surgeon with experience in kidney and liver transplantation, along with a long record of involvement in education and national transplant policy. He was on the faculty of Başkent University Hospital from 1998 to 2005 and has been affiliated with Acıbadem Health Group since 2020. His work includes direct surgical care as well as contributions to professional training and policy development.
He is a member of The Transplantation Society (World Transplantation Society), the Middle East Society for Organ Transplantation (MESOT), the Turkey Organ Transplant Association, and the American College of Surgeons. He also holds certification from the European Board of Surgery and is active in New Key Opinion Leaders networks. In Turkey, he serves on the Kidney and Liver Transplantation Scientific Committees of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Organ Transplantation.
