Low vision aids and adaptive devices are essential components of management, helping patients maximize their remaining vision for daily tasks. These include magnifying glasses, specialized lighting, and electronic devices to facilitate reading, writing, and mobility. Counseling and psychological support are also vital, as progressive vision loss can affect mental health and independence.

Research into neuroprotective agents, stem cell therapy, and retinal regeneration continues to progress, offering hope for future treatments. In the meantime, a multidisciplinary approach involving ophthalmologists, geneticists, low vision specialists, and mental health professionals provides comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s needs.
