About Ömer Faruk Taşer
Prof. Ömer Faruk Taşer is a senior orthopedic surgeon with a long-standing academic and clinical career. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology in 1996 and holds the title of Professor. Since 2002 he has been affiliated with Acibadem Health Group, where he continues to provide advanced orthopedic care and surgical expertise. He has held leadership roles in national professional bodies, including President of the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association (2005–2007) and President of the Turkish Society of Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy and Knee Surgery (2006–2008). His work spans sports medicine, arthroscopy, knee surgery, and care for patients with bleeding disorders. Prof. Taşer is an active member of numerous international and regional organizations, reflecting his commitment to professional development and collaboration: Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association; World Federation of Hemophilia; Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Society; Turkish Hemophilia Association; European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA); European Foot and Ankle Society; International Cartilage Repair Association (ICRA); Gerhard Küntscher Kreis; German Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology; and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He combines academic experience, leadership in professional societies, and clinical practice to advance orthopedic care and training, with particular focus on sports injuries, knee and cartilage treatment, and management of orthopedic issues in patients with hemophilia.
