Prof. Dr. Deniz Konya

Prof. Deniz Konya is a neurosurgeon with extensive experience in spine surgery and academic leadership. He completed his medical education at Ege University Faculty of Medicine and later received a diploma from Université Paris VI Pierre et Marie Curie. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2001 and Professor in 2007, and has held senior academic and clinical positions throughout his career. From 2010 to 2013, he served as President of the Department of Neurosurgery at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine.

Between 2013 and 2026, he worked as a senior surgeon in the Department of Neurosurgery at Medical Park Hospital in Istanbul and as an associate professor of neurosurgery at Bahcesehir University Hospital. Since 2026, he has been at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital. He is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgery Association, Turkish Spine Association, European Spine Society, North American Spine Society (NASS), AO Spine, IGASS, and the Scoliosis Research Society, as the first Turkish neurosurgeon to join SRS. His academic work includes 82 international journal publications, 26 national journal articles, 3 chapters in international books, 6 chapters in national books, 37 international congress presentations, 101 national congress presentations, 58 invited lectures, and the TÜBİTAK Research Award.
