However, RA remains one of the most common autoimmune diseases linked to the development of trigger finger due to its impact on tendons and synovial tissue.

Managing trigger finger in the context of rheumatoid arthritis involves controlling the underlying inflammation. Disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologic agents, and corticosteroids are often used to reduce systemic inflammation, which in turn can alleviate symptoms related to trigger finger. In cases where conservative treatments fail, a procedure called a percutaneous or open surgical release of the affected pulley may be performed to free the trapped tendon.
