Orthopedic features, such as scoliosis, pectus excavatum, or arachnodactyly, often require supportive treatments. For scoliosis, braces or surgical intervention might be necessary depending on severity. Pectus deformities may be corrected surgically if they cause functional or cosmetic concerns. While these features do not typically threaten life directly, addressing them improves overall quality of life and functional capacity.

Ocular issues are also prevalent in Marfan syndrome, with lens dislocation (ectopia lentis) being common. Regular ophthalmologic evaluations are essential for early detection. Corrective lenses or surgical procedures, such as lens repositioning or removal, can address visual impairments. Preventive measures to reduce the risk of retinal detachment include avoiding high-impact activities and promptly treating any ocular trauma.

Beyond organ-specific interventions, comprehensive management includes regular monitoring and multidisciplinary care. Genetic counseling is vital for affected individuals and their families to understand inheritance patterns and reproductive options. Pharmacologic treatment and surveillance are complemented by lifestyle modifications, such as avoiding strenuous activities that might place undue stress on the cardiovascular system.

In some cases, emerging therapies and ongoing research aim to further improve outcomes for individuals with Marfan syndrome. Advances in understanding the molecular pathways involved in connective tissue integrity continue to inform targeted therapies that may one day provide more precise and effective treatments.
