Although no medications are yet approved specifically for FA, drugs like idebenone and other antioxidants have been explored to slow disease progression and manage cardiac symptoms. Patients are often enrolled in clinical trials to access emerging therapies and contribute to advancing treatment options.

Psychosocial support is equally vital, as living with a chronic, progressive disorder can lead to emotional and psychological challenges. Counseling, support groups, and mental health services help patients and families cope with the disease’s impact, fostering resilience and community connection.
