Gene therapy represents a promising frontier, aiming to introduce functional copies of the defective gene to produce the missing clotting factor endogenously. Although still in experimental stages, early clinical trials have demonstrated sustained increases in clotting factor levels in some patients, potentially reducing or eliminating the need for regular infusions. As research progresses, gene therapy may become a viable long-term solution for adults with hemophilia.

Complementary approaches include physiotherapy and joint health management, which are vital for adults with hemophilia to prevent joint damage from recurrent bleeding. Lifestyle modifications like avoiding contact sports, maintaining a healthy weight, and promptly treating bleeds are essential components of comprehensive care.
