Amyloidosis is a rare but serious group of diseases characterized by the abnormal accumulation of amyloid proteins in various tissues and organs. Moreover, amyloidosis can increase the risk of infections due to immune system impairment, particularly in individuals with extensive organ involvement or those undergoing immunosuppressive therapies.

Managing amyloidosis complications requires a multidisciplinary approach. Treatments aim to reduce amyloid production, stabilize organ function, and alleviate symptoms. Chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and stem cell transplants are options for certain types, especially in primary amyloidosis. Supportive care such as diuretics, heart medications, and dialysis addresses the specific organ-related issues. Early detection and intervention are vital to prevent irreversible damage and improve survival rates.
